"Four Wheel Drive Hardware is the leading mail order cataloger and internet distributor of a leading direct mail distributor of Jeep related parts and accessories, headquartered in Columbiana, Ohio.
A four-wheel drive hobbyist himself, Tom Kennedy, founder and owner, conceived the idea for his company out of his own need. Many years ago, a friend got him interested in racing and working on Jeeps, and he found himself quickly falling in love with the sport.
Tom frequently needed quality replacement parts that were often hard to find. His search for good suppliers resulted in the idea of providing the same service, at a reasonable price, to other racing acquaintances. Four Wheel Drive Hardware was born in his two-car garage more than 28 years ago.
Unfortunately, Tom Kennedy passed away April 30, 1997 from asbestos cancer, but his spirit lives on with the company. We have continued to grow under the ownership of Mr. Kennedy's wife and son with the same principles and commitments that Tom established when he started the company. In April 2000, the Company was sold to Pfingsten Partners, L.L.C., an investment group located in Deerfield, Illinois and continues to grow and prosper under the leadership of Barry J. Ryan, President and CEO.
